WAREHOUSING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

 Warehouse is a building for storing goods. The needs of the warehouses depends on the kind of goods will be stored in it. Inventory of the stocks is important to have properly manage the warehouse. 

Warehouse Management may be improved by following 5S.  

S-Sort                     - (Tidiness) Remove unnecessary items from each area. 

S-Set                      - (Orderliness) Set in Order by organizing and identifying storage for efficient use.

S- Shine                 - (Cleanliness) Clean and inspect each area regularly.

S- Standardize       - (Standardization) Follow SOP (Standard Operating Procedure). 

S- Sustain              - (Discipline) Assign responsibility, track progress and continue the cycle. 

Sorting items by removing those that are not being used, broken and frequently used. You can use Tagging system to identify the category of the items. 

Set things in order. Use Warehouse Storage Solution like Racking, Shelving, Raised Storage Areas and Warehouse Automation. Build a 5S map to keep track of everything. 

Shine or Cleanliness and inspection of the stocks and the warehouse itself must be done regularly.  This will reduce any spoilage, damage or infestation.

Standardize or Follow your SOPs. Use tools like checklists and procedures. All documents should be kept and reviewed according to the frequency stated. 

Sustain or Discipline. Commitment and support of everyone is important key. This includes training, audits and evaluation. 

There another S which is SAFETY.
